A STEAMY RIDE is the title of my last composition for wind orchestra. Commissioned by the Harmonie Prinses Juliana Klaaswaal (NL) the piece tells the story of a former steam tram, connecting Rotterdam and Zuid Beijerland. Hoekse Waard is an island located in the province of Zuid Holland and Klaaswaal is a small village, part of this commune.
The HPJK is conducted by Xavier Scheepers, conductor and saxophone player, former student of Arno Bornkamp in Amsterdam. He holds a master's degree in saxophone.
